Carifest
Culture in motion. Community in colour.
Celebrating Guyanese and Caribbean heritage through music, movement, costume and community — on the streets of Calgary every summer.
Calgary comes alive in colour.
Carifest is Calgary’s Caribbean street festival and parade, and the GCCA is proud to walk it as one band. In 2026 the festival marked its forty-fifth year.
Each summer we bring the colours, rhythms and traditions of Guyanese culture onto the street — honouring where we come from, and sharing that pride with the city we call home. Members of every age walk it together: grandparents on the route beside grandchildren in their first headdress.
